Police Services : Eligibility & Selection

To begin your police career as a Group A and Group B police officer, or police officer post, you must pass the annual Indian Police Services (IPS) exam. This police recruitment interview and written exams for Group A and Group B officers will be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). To do this, the candidate must be 21 years old, not 30 years old, as of August 1st of the year the exam was written. The various civil service posts are appointed by the Civil Service Committee.
