What is the full form of EVS?

The full form of EVS is Environmental Studies / Environmental Sciences. As the name implies, it is an environmental study that refers to the environment in which we live. The components of the environment are all that directly or indirectly support human survival. These components can be living things such as plants and animals, and non-living things such as soil, water and air. Living components interact with their environment and adapt to their environmental conditions.

EVS is offered as a school subject, but it is also offered at a higher education level. It is also used to solve everyday problems related to the environment and its components.

It is generally taught in elementary school classes from the 1st to the 5th standard. Then it is included in science. It can be said to be a scientific study of the environment in which students acquire specialized fields of subjects and problems related to the natural environment and its relationship with humans.

EVS includes not only the physical or biological properties of the environment, but also social, cultural, and other factors that affect the environment. Therefore, it is an interdisciplinary discipline that studies human interactions with the environment in a systematic way. It also includes the relationship between the natural environment and the construction environment. Therefore, it is a wide range of research fields with various degree programs in environmental studies such as bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

Why should you Need Environmental Studies?

  • Pollution, population growth, deforestation, depletion of natural resources and other disasters are behind environmental problems. Individuals and governments alone cannot sustain the sustainability of the environment.
  •  We must all contribute to protection from harm. Appropriate guidance on values, skills, knowledge and tools to combat challenges requires both formal and informal environmental education methods.
  •  Environmental research is necessary to prepare for the environmental protection of the current generation. The earth’s resources are constantly depleting, so we have to do something.
  • Now is the time for all citizens of the world to become aware of the protection of this beautiful environment and actively participate.
